While developing the Model TL-900, DC Matic gathered input from the U.S. Army, Marines and the Texas National Guard. Face-to-face meetings and actual use on vehicles like the HEMTT, LHS and the M88 Hercules tank revealed that the tool could perform every task it encountered. Veteran National Guard personnel stated that using the standard issue HEMTT tools to change a wheel in the field took them well over an hour ! When using a Model TL-900 powered by way of the vehicle's NATO slave receptacle that same wheel change took less them less than (30) minutes. Guardsmen also noted that when "in-country" a non-moving vehicle is very vulnerable to attack so getting it back in motion quickly will save lives.
